What You Can Do on MyTUP Social: A Guide to the Platform

MyTUP Social is designed to support more than one type of campus interaction. Some users will mainly read updates. Others will post, message, join groups, explore events, use marketplace or tutoring features, watch clips or participate in live activity.

MyTUP Social is designed to support more than one type of campus interaction. Some users will mainly read updates. Others will post, message, join groups, explore events, use marketplace or tutoring features, watch clips or participate in live activity.

This guide explains the main categories of activity available across the MyTUP ecosystem and the role each one plays.

Follow community conversations

The timeline is the central place to see posts and activity from the community. It gives users a focused environment for campus-related discussion instead of forcing university interaction into unrelated public social networks.

Users can participate by reading, reacting, commenting or creating their own posts where those features are available.

Message other members

Messaging allows users to communicate directly when a public post is not the right place for a conversation. Direct communication is useful for questions, coordination and community interaction, but users should still protect private information and follow platform standards.

Discover groups and communities

Groups can help users organize around interests, activities, academic communities, alumni connections or other shared contexts. A group gives a conversation more focus than a general timeline.

Official recognition of student organizations remains with the appropriate TUP office. A MyTUP group does not automatically make an organization officially recognized by the university.

Find events and campus activity

Events can help users discover activities happening around the community. When an event is tied to an official university schedule, users should confirm the final details with the official TUP source.

Watch or create short-form content

Clips and other short-form media provide a more visual way to participate in the community. These features are designed for original or appropriately shared content and remain subject to the Community Guidelines.

Participate in live activity

Live features can support real-time interaction when enabled for eligible users. Live content should be treated with the same care as any other public content: protect private information, respect other users and report harmful activity when necessary.

Explore marketplace activity

Marketplace features can help users discover listings or community commerce. Users should evaluate transactions carefully, avoid sharing unnecessary financial information and be alert to scams or misleading offers.

Find tutoring or academic support connections

Tutoring features can help users discover peer-to-peer academic support or learning assistance. These community tools do not replace official academic instruction, grading or university academic decisions.

Use notifications to stay informed

Notifications can help users keep track of messages, reactions, comments and relevant platform activity. Device-level notification permissions can normally be adjusted through the user's own settings.

Move between community and learning

MyTUP Social is only one part of the ecosystem. Users can also access MyTUP Web from a browser and move into the MyTUP LMS when coursework and structured learning are the priority.

Find official student resources

Formal services such as admissions, enrollment, Registrar functions, official records, scholarships, guidance and health services remain with TUP. The Student Resources page provides a structured directory to help users reach the correct office.

Protect your account and privacy

Every feature on the platform should be used with basic privacy awareness. Do not publish passwords, authentication codes, financial records, private medical details or other sensitive personal information.

Read the Privacy Policy, Cookie and Advertising Policy and Child Safety Standards for more information.

Use the platform for what it is good at

The strongest use of MyTUP Social is community connection. It is designed to help people discover, communicate and participate more easily across the TUP environment.

For formal university actions, go to TUP. For community interaction, use MyTUP. Keeping that distinction clear makes the entire ecosystem more useful.
