1. Scope
This Cookie & Advertising Policy applies to MyTUP Social services operated by CommunityStack Information Technology Services, including the public website at mytup.social and advertising or measurement technologies used in MyTUP applications where enabled.
This policy should be read together with the Privacy Policy. It does not govern cookies or technologies used independently by official Technological University of the Philippines websites or systems.
2. Technologies we may use
Depending on the service, feature and configuration, MyTUP Social and its service providers may use:
- Cookies stored by a browser to support sessions, preferences, measurement or advertising.
- Local storage and similar browser storage used to remember settings or maintain functionality.
- Advertising identifiers supplied by mobile operating systems or advertising SDKs where available.
- Web beacons, pixels or tags used for measurement, ad delivery, security or reporting.
- IP addresses and technical identifiers used for routing, security, fraud prevention, approximate location, measurement and ad delivery.
- SDKs within mobile applications that provide advertising, analytics, crash-reporting, messaging or related services.
3. Categories and purposes

4. Google advertising services
MyTUP Social may use Google AdSense on the public website and Google AdMob in mobile applications. When those services are enabled, Google and other third-party vendors may place or read cookies on a user's browser, use mobile advertising identifiers, or use web beacons, IP addresses and similar technologies as a result of ad serving, measurement, reporting, fraud prevention and related services.
Google may process information such as cookie or device identifiers, browser and device information, IP-related information, approximate location derived from technical signals, page or app activity, ad impressions, ad interactions and security or fraud-prevention signals.
5. Personalized and non-personalized advertising
Personalized advertising
Where permitted and appropriately configured, personalized ads may use information such as prior activity, interests or other advertising signals to select ads that may be more relevant to a user.
Non-personalized advertising
Non-personalized ads do not use a user's past behavior for ad targeting. They may still use contextual information, coarse geographic information, cookies or mobile identifiers for purposes such as frequency capping, aggregated reporting, security and fraud prevention.

6. Consent and regional requirements
Where applicable law or Google policy requires consent before using cookies, local storage, advertising identifiers or personal data for advertising purposes, MyTUP Social will use appropriate consent controls before enabling the affected processing.
Google requires publishers serving personalized ads to users in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland to use a Google-certified consent management platform (CMP) that integrates with the IAB Transparency and Consent Framework. MyTUP Social will configure applicable consent controls before serving personalized advertising to users in those regions.
Declining personalized advertising does not necessarily mean that no advertising will be shown. Non-personalized or limited ads may still be served where permitted, and certain technologies may still be used for security, fraud prevention, frequency capping or aggregate measurement where legally allowed.
7. Third-party services
Third parties may process information through their own systems when their services are used. These may include advertising networks, analytics services, hosting providers, content-delivery services, crash reporting, app distribution platforms and other technical providers necessary to operate MyTUP Social.
MyTUP Social does not sell private user conversations or give advertisers direct access to private user messages. Third-party providers remain responsible for their own data practices and privacy policies.
8. Your controls
Depending on your device, browser, region and the technologies currently enabled, you may be able to:
- Accept, reject or manage choices through an available consent message.
- Block, delete or restrict cookies through your browser settings.
- Reset or limit advertising identifiers through your mobile device settings.
- Manage Google's advertising personalization through Google Ad Settings.
- Restrict app permissions or tracking choices through iOS or Android settings where those controls are available.
Blocking some technologies may affect site or app functionality. Strictly necessary security or session technologies may still be required to provide features that a user requests.
9. Retention
Retention periods vary according to the technology, provider and purpose. Some session technologies expire when the browser or app session ends, while persistent identifiers may remain until they expire, are reset, are deleted by the user or are removed according to the provider's retention rules.
10. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy when advertising providers, technologies, legal requirements or MyTUP Social services change. The revised version will be published on this page with an updated date.
