Acceptance of these Terms

By accessing, registering for or using MyTUP Social, you confirm that you have read, understood and agreed to these Terms.

If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not access or use the Service.

Certain features may also be subject to additional rules, notices or requirements displayed within MyTUP Social. Those additional requirements form part of these Terms when they apply to your use of a feature.

Platform ownership and operation

MyTUP Social is owned and operated by CommunityStack.

MyTUP Social is designed for the Technological University of the Philippines community and provides digital community, communication and social-platform functionality.

Eligibility

You may use MyTUP Social only if you are legally capable of entering into these Terms and meet the eligibility requirements for the Service.

The Service is not intended for children under 13 years of age.

Certain features may be limited to verified members of the TUP community, particular account types, age groups or users who meet additional eligibility requirements.

You may not use the Service if your account has previously been permanently suspended for serious violations unless CommunityStack has expressly authorized your return.

Accounts and account security

Some features require a MyTUP Social account.

When creating or maintaining an account, you agree to provide accurate information and keep information reasonably current.

You are responsible for:

• Maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
• Maintaining reasonable security of the device used to access your account.
• Activities performed through your account unless caused by a security failure attributable to us.
• Promptly informing us if you believe your account has been compromised.

You must not impersonate another person, create an account using intentionally false identity information or gain unauthorized access to another user's account.

Acceptable use and community conduct

MyTUP Social is a community platform. Users must use the Service responsibly and respect the rights and safety of others.

You must not use MyTUP Social to:

• Harass, bully, threaten, stalk or intimidate another person.
• Publish unlawful defamatory material or content that unlawfully violates another person's rights.
• Promote or facilitate fraud, scams, phishing or deceptive activity.
• Distribute malware, harmful code or malicious links.
• Attempt to access accounts, systems, databases or information without authorization.
• Circumvent security controls, rate limits, moderation systems or access restrictions.
• Scrape, harvest or collect user information through unauthorized automated means.
• Infringe copyrights, trademarks, privacy rights or other rights of third parties.
• Post illegal content or use the Service to facilitate illegal conduct.
• Spam users or manipulate platform engagement through deceptive or automated activity.
• Upload sexually exploitative content involving minors or any other prohibited exploitative material.
• Use another person's identity or account without authorization.

User-generated content

You retain ownership of original content that you create and submit to MyTUP Social, subject to the rights you grant us under these Terms.

Permission to operate the Service

When you upload, publish, transmit or otherwise make content available through MyTUP Social, you grant CommunityStack a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, reproduce, process, display, transmit and technically modify that content as reasonably necessary to operate, deliver, secure and improve the Service.

This license exists so that the platform can technically display and deliver your content to you and other authorized users. It does not transfer ownership of your original content to CommunityStack.

Your responsibility for content

You are responsible for content you submit and represent that you have the necessary rights and permissions to make that content available through the Service.

You should not upload confidential, sensitive or private information that you are not authorized to share.

Content moderation and enforcement

CommunityStack may review reports and take reasonable action to protect users, enforce these Terms, maintain platform integrity and comply with applicable law.

Actions may include:

• Restricting the visibility or distribution of content.
• Removing content.
• Limiting access to particular features.
• Issuing warnings.
• Temporarily suspending an account.
• Permanently disabling an account for serious or repeated violations.
• Preserving or disclosing information where legally required or reasonably necessary for safety and security.

We may use automated systems together with human review to identify spam, abuse, security threats and potentially prohibited content.

We are not required to pre-screen every item of user content before it appears on the Service.

Messages, notifications and communications

MyTUP Social may provide private messaging, notifications, comments and other communication features.

You agree not to use communication features for spam, harassment, fraud, impersonation, unauthorized solicitation or other conduct prohibited by these Terms.

Service notifications may include security alerts, account notices, activity notifications, support communications and information necessary to operate your account.

You may be able to control certain optional notifications through the Service or your device settings.

Community and platform features

MyTUP Social may offer various social, community and utility features. Features may be added, changed, limited or removed over time.

Depending on the version of the Service, features may include posts, comments, reactions, profiles, messaging, groups, media uploads, short-form video, live streaming, calls, events, marketplace listings, tutoring, jobs and other community functionality.

User-to-user arrangements

Where MyTUP Social allows users to publish marketplace listings, tutoring offers, employment opportunities, event information or similar user-generated opportunities, CommunityStack provides the platform but is not automatically a party to agreements made between users.

Users are responsible for evaluating the legitimacy, safety and suitability of transactions or arrangements with other users.

Third-party services and links

MyTUP Social may integrate with or link to websites, software, infrastructure or services operated by third parties.

Third-party services operate under their own terms and privacy practices.

CommunityStack is not responsible for third-party websites, products or services that operate independently from MyTUP Social.

Advertising and sponsored content

MyTUP Social may display advertising, sponsored content, promotional content or commercial messages.

Advertising may be delivered by CommunityStack or third-party advertising providers.

Advertisers and advertising technology providers may be subject to their own terms and privacy policies.

The presence of an advertisement does not mean CommunityStack guarantees or endorses the advertised product or service unless expressly stated.

Intellectual property

Except for user-generated content and third-party materials, MyTUP Social, including its software, interface, platform design, technology, functionality, code and related platform materials, is owned by or licensed to CommunityStack and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws.

You may use the Service only for purposes authorized by these Terms.

You may not copy, reverse engineer, redistribute, sell, sublicense or exploit proprietary portions of the Service except where expressly permitted by law or with written authorization.

University names, seals, marks and other institutional materials remain subject to the rights of their respective owners.

Privacy and personal information

Our collection and use of personal information is described in the MyTUP Social Privacy Policy.

By using the Service, you acknowledge that personal information will be processed as described in that policy and as necessary to provide the Service.

Suspension, termination and account deletion

You may stop using MyTUP Social at any time.

You may also request permanent deletion of your account through the available in-app account deletion feature where provided, or through: https://mytup.social/delete-account/ .

CommunityStack may restrict, suspend or terminate accounts where reasonably necessary because of:

• Serious or repeated violations of these Terms.
• Fraudulent or abusive behavior.
• Unauthorized access or security threats.
• Legal or regulatory requirements.
• Conduct that creates significant risk to users, CommunityStack or the Service.

Where appropriate and legally permitted, we may provide notice or an opportunity to resolve an issue before permanent action is taken.

Service availability and disclaimers

We work to provide a reliable and secure Service, but MyTUP Social is provided on an “as available” basis to the extent permitted by applicable law.

We do not guarantee that every feature will always be available, uninterrupted, error-free or compatible with every device.

Maintenance, software updates, network failures, third-party outages, security incidents or other circumstances may temporarily affect availability.

User-generated content represents the views or actions of the user who submitted it and does not automatically represent the views of CommunityStack or the Technological University of the Philippines.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, CommunityStack will not be liable for indirect, incidental, consequential, special or punitive damages arising from use of or inability to use MyTUP Social.

CommunityStack is not responsible for losses caused solely by another user's unlawful conduct, unauthorized third-party activity, independent third-party services or events outside our reasonable control, except where applicable law provides otherwise.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited.

Responsibility for your use

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you are responsible for claims, losses or liabilities resulting from your unlawful use of the Service, your violation of these Terms or your infringement of another person's rights.

This provision does not apply where liability results from CommunityStack's own unlawful conduct or where applicable law does not permit such allocation of responsibility.

Changes to the Service or these Terms

MyTUP Social will continue to evolve. We may add, modify, restrict or remove features where necessary to improve, secure or operate the Service.

We may also update these Terms when our services, legal obligations or business practices change.

Updated Terms will be posted on this page with a revised effective date.

Where required by law or where changes are materially significant, we may provide additional notice within the Service or through another appropriate channel.

Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by and interpreted in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines, without prejudice to any mandatory rights or protections that applicable law does not permit the parties to waive.

Before starting formal proceedings, users are encouraged to contact CommunityStack so concerns can be reviewed and, where reasonably possible, resolved directly.

Any dispute that cannot be resolved informally will be handled by courts or other authorities of competent jurisdiction in the Philippines, subject to applicable law and any mandatory venue or consumer-protection rules.
