Why it exists

University life does not happen in one channel.

Classes are only one part of a university community. People also need to discover, communicate, participate, ask questions, find support and stay connected to what is happening around them.

01

Campus information is often fragmented.

Useful information can end up spread across websites, public social networks, group chats, class channels and individual organizations. MyTUP Social is designed to reduce that fragmentation by creating a dedicated community layer around TUP life.

02

Community needs context.

A purpose-built university environment gives conversations, people, activities and resources a clearer context than a general public platform. The goal is not more noise; it is more relevant connection.

03

Learning and community should be easy to move between.

The social platform, browser experience and MyTUP LMS have different jobs. Keeping those roles clear lets users move from community participation into learning without confusing the two.

04

Trust requires visible rules.

Community guidelines, safety standards, privacy information, support routes and account controls should not be hidden. MyTUP publishes those pathways openly so users can understand how the platform is expected to operate.

Clear boundaries

What MyTUP Social is — and what it does not replace.

A useful campus platform should make its role obvious. MyTUP Social supports community interaction and access; the Technological University of the Philippines remains the authoritative source for official university matters.

MyTUP Social is the community layer.

It is designed around the everyday digital life that surrounds a university: people, posts, conversations, campus activity, discovery, participation, useful guides and access to connected services.

Direct routes to the mobile experience, Web App and LMS
Published support, privacy, safety and community standards

Official university authority stays with TUP.

MyTUP Social does not replace the official TUP website, registrar, admissions office, academic records, formal university decisions or other authoritative institutional channels.

Verify official announcements and institutional information through tup.edu.ph
Use the responsible TUP office for admissions, enrollment, grades and official records
Treat university-issued policies and formal notices as authoritative
Use MyTUP support for MyTUP account, platform and technical issues
Built around the TUP context

A university with a technological mission and a distributed community.

The Technological University of the Philippines describes its vision around recognized excellence in engineering and technology education. Its published strategic goals also include a modernized university system and stronger collaboration initiatives. Those priorities provide useful context for why clear digital access and community infrastructure matter.

TUP's official university channels identify Manila, Taguig, Cavite and Visayas as campuses. Official admissions material has also referenced Batangas and Quezon extension locations. MyTUP Social is designed with that wider university footprint in mind: campus identity matters, but the community should still be able to connect across locations.

How we think about the platform

Useful before impressive. Clear before complicated.

A campus platform earns its place by being understandable, dependable and relevant to ordinary university life. These principles guide how MyTUP Social is presented and operated.

02 · Clarity

Every destination should have an obvious job.

Public information, community activity, learning, support and official university information are separated so users know where to go and what source to trust.

03 · Safety

Standards are part of the product.

Community guidelines, reporting pathways and child-safety standards are treated as core platform infrastructure rather than buried legal text.

04 · Privacy

Users should be able to see how data is handled.

Privacy, cookie and advertising information, account deletion and support routes are published openly and linked throughout the site.

05 · Accessibility

Important routes must work beyond one device.

Mobile, browser and public-web access reduce dependence on a single interface and keep important information available outside the app.

Trust & transparency

Policies should be easy to find before something goes wrong.

MyTUP Social keeps its core rules and user routes public. That includes community standards, privacy information, advertising disclosures, child-safety standards, account deletion and direct support.

Platform operator

Owned and operated by CommunityStack.

CommunityStack Information Technology Services owns and operates MyTUP Social for the Technological University of the Philippines community. CommunityStack is responsible for the platform's digital operation, product infrastructure, public website and connected MyTUP experiences within the scope of the service.

That operational role is separate from TUP's authority over official university records, academic decisions, admissions, institutional policy and other formal university functions. Keeping that boundary explicit helps users understand who is responsible for which part of their digital experience.

The public site may also use advertising and analytics services where enabled to support platform operations and measurement. Relevant disclosures and user information are maintained in the Cookie & Advertising Policy and Privacy Policy.
