If you are new to MyTUP Social, you do not need to learn every feature at once. The fastest way to get value from the platform is to set up your account correctly, understand the main navigation and know which tasks belong in MyTUP versus official TUP channels.
Step 1: choose how you want to access MyTUP
Start from the Download and Access page. Depending on current availability, you can use the mobile app or open the Web experience directly in your browser.
If you prefer not to install anything, MyTUP Web provides browser-based access.
Step 2: create or access your account
Use accurate information when setting up your account. Your profile helps other members of the community understand who they are interacting with and allows the platform to provide a more relevant experience.
Protect your login information. Never send your password or authentication codes to another user. If you cannot access your account, use MyTUP Support.
Step 3: complete your profile carefully
Add the information that is useful for community interaction, but avoid oversharing. A profile can help others identify your campus or community context without becoming a public storage place for sensitive personal information.
Do not publish private records, financial information, passwords, medical details or other confidential data on your profile.
Step 4: learn the main community features
MyTUP Social is designed around community participation. Depending on the features currently enabled, you may see areas for posts, messages, clips, groups, events, marketplace activity, tutoring, live content and other tools.
You do not need to use everything. Start with the features that solve a real need for you. The Features page explains the main areas of the platform.
Step 5: understand the difference between Social, Web and LMS
MyTUP Social and MyTUP Web are focused on community interaction. The LMS is focused on learning. When you need academic coursework or structured learning activity, move into the MyTUP LMS.
For a deeper explanation, read How MyTUP Works.
Step 6: find reliable campus information
Use MyTUP to discover what the community is discussing, but confirm formal or time-sensitive university information with the official source.
The News and Updates page surfaces current TUP stories and advisories while linking users back to official sources. The Campus Guide helps users find the correct campus starting point.
Step 7: know where to go for student services
Admissions, Registrar functions, scholarships, guidance, health services and official academic records are not handled by MyTUP Social. Use the Student Resources directory to find the appropriate official TUP service.
Step 8: follow the community rules
Before posting or messaging, read the Community Guidelines. They explain the standards for participation and the kinds of content or behavior that may result in moderation or enforcement.
For privacy questions, read the Privacy Policy. For serious safety issues or platform problems, contact Support.
Step 9: use notifications intentionally
Notifications can be useful when they help you stay informed, but they should not become noise. Use your device or platform settings to control the alerts that matter to you.
Step 10: explore at your own pace
The platform is designed to support different types of users. Some people will mainly read updates and messages. Others will participate in groups, events or creator features. There is no requirement to use every part of the service.
Start with one or two useful functions, learn the platform gradually and use official TUP channels whenever the matter is formal, academic or administrative.
